ANNOUNCING: JostStart + Two Writing Competitions

AdeOla Fadumiye who blogs at JostWrite is one of my treasured readers (Even if I don't mention your names individually, please know that I treasure and value each and every one of you who take time to visit and/or comment on this blog.  God bless you plenty).  Apart from boldly sharing her own experiences with freelance writing, she has an admirable passion for highlighting other talented people (particularly Nigerians) who are also pursuing their passions.

Uzoma Ikechukwu

Hmmmm.... I might just enter for the yoruba writing competition since I am good in writing yoruba, though I wonder how we can use our computers to put the amin on our words.
I don't know, but I dont think I am keen on the idea of paying to enter a writing competition. Doesn't really encourage me.

Awwww, thanks Relentless for the shout out. I really appreciate it.
Writing competition in Yoruba? that is da bomb...for sure not entering for that one until i brush up on both my written and spoken Yoruba. :) SAD!

Thanks for sharing this info, it's always nice to see there are still people out there who are willing to give up their time and expertise to support others, very commendable

Thank you Naija4Life. You are one to talk with all that you are doing :). I actually mentioned your work with "Give a Book" in an old post here:http://jostwrite.blogspot.com/2012/01/not-giving-up-but-giving-backjoyjars.html

Amen, and thank you much.

Happy New Year, Uzoma! Thanks for the compliments on the blog design.  Keeping my fingers crossed that this one'll stay sha.  Meanwhile, I am glad to be of service, as per the info :-)

The Yoruba one? Omo, your Yoruba must be pretty tight. I didn't even let the thought linger in my mind sef ... Lord knows the amin alone would take all the prep time for me.  So kudos to you. Ko easy mehn!

I have no idea how to do that on a PC, but I heard you can do it easily on a MAC.  I no get MAC sha, so ...

You know, about the entry fee, you read my thoughts EXACTLY! I was thinking the exact same thing, but decided that for the sake of others who might be interested regardless, let me kuku post the info.  I thought the idea of a competition precluded paying to contest.  But na so we see am ...

AdeOla, you are SO welcome. The pleasure is moine.  Anytime :-)

LOL! That makes two of us not taking part in the Yoruba competition.  Both my spoken and written Yoruba have plenty room for improvement, so writing a whole entry in Yoruba ... Well, let's just say I would really need to exert myself.  I ain't ready ...

Thanks by the way for the honorable mention on your blog.  I shall stop by soon to comment.  I am still blushing sef *blushing continues*

Yes, Naija4Life, just like what you are doing with your campaign, JostStart is a 'worthy cause' and I hope you'll support it too.  Thanks for the kind comments :-)

Thanks for sharing this link, AdeOla. I had no idea ... I'll check it out.

Joststart will be a great encouragement to those still procrastinating, nice one. I'll check out the writing contests and pass along too on Naija Stories.

Indeed, it will, Myne.  It'll get those sitting on the fence to actually commit.  Thanks in advance for passing on the message to Naija Stories.

Thanks! I am sure the designer would appreciate the compliments :-)

You need to pay me more than 100,000 for me to write in Yoruba!

Ofili: And how much do we need to pay you to write in English? *eyebrows raised*
