OFFICIAL VIDEO: Ogecha - Dumimaja (Hide Me)

Ogecha finally released the official video of Dumimaja ("Hide Me" in Igala) in August 2014.  I had previously reviewed it here and did not find out till a few months ago that she was even planning to make a video for this song.  Let's just say it was a lovely surprise!


I like the concept behind the video.  There's an actual storyline packed into the 4 minutes and 23 seconds runtime, and I am eternally grateful that this video was not reduced to a group of church folks dancing in front of a white screen.  Not that there's anything wrong with church folks dancing. It's just so over-used and un-original, and Nigerian gospel artistes have milked it for all it's worth.

So, thank you Ogecha for serving up something different.

Dumimaja is definitely one of my favorite songs from her debut album, All For You, and I was glad she featured her husband, Obande Peter Obande in the video too (he's in the last scene).  Team Effort :-)
