Digestives v. HobNobs: Which is your favorite McVitie's biscuit?

So, what prompted this post?

An advert o! A radio jingle.

I was listening to Inspiration FM sometime last week, and heard this (for lack of a better word) "razz" advert.  I was shocked to find out it was for McVitie's.  Okay, call me bush, but in all my life, I have never heard a McVitie's advert.  Or seen one for that matter.  Yes, I am one of those people who believe that a child is just born with the knowledge that you haven't lived until you've eaten McVitie's Digestives biscuits.

Or maybe it's an acquired taste, just like malt v. root beer.  Yes, some people actually hate malt, especially in this country.  But calm down.  I am not one of such people.  *raises fist high* #MaltForever

Growing up in Nigeria, I remember when people started selling these "fake digestives" biscuits.  As far as I was concerned, they were fake for two reasons:

1. They were just as cheap as Okin biscuits (both the round and rectangular ones)
2. You could see the biscuit inside the wrapper ... before opening it.  Abomination! (You know the "original" digestives are in an opaque wrapper or sometimes in a paper box, right?)

Anyways, I have made the mistake of eating some other brands of digestives biscuits over the years.  Trust me,  McVitie's is the clear winner.

But, possibly what I detested even more than fake digestives was the other McVitie's biscuit.  I have to whisper the name, so this other biscuit won't feel bad.

Wait, biscuits don't have ears?

Hallelujah!

It's HOB-NOBS!  

And I detest them deeply. 

That oat-y, "more wholesome" taste could not possibly compete with Digestives.  No controversy.

That's all I will say.  For now.
