Liebster Blog Award Courtesy of The Vegan Nigerian

In May, I got another Liebster Blog Award from the very lovely and innovative Vegan Nigerian.  Ever heard of Garri cookies?  Neither had I until I visited her blog.  She has other great recipes so you should definitely check it out.  Thanks a lot Vegan Nigerian for this award.  I really appreciate it :-)

And because there's always a catch, I have to satisfy the conditions for receiving this award. What are the conditions? Well, I am glad you asked.  By the way, once I start reeling off the rules, you'll notice that whoever invented this award loves the Number 11.  My question is: Why the aversion towards Number 12? *smh*

1. Thank the blogger that nominated you
2. List 11 random facts about yourself
3. Answer the questions by the blogger who nominated you
4. Nominate 11 other bloggers
5. Ask your nominees 11 questions
6. Notify your nominees

11 Random Facts About Relentless

1.   I like free stuff.  Whoever coined the phrase "Awoof dey run belle" cannot be my friend, unless he or she revises it to read: "Awoof dey make man pikin belle sweet well well." (Translation: Freebies happify me).  Yes, all those words must be included.  Then, we can talk.

2.   I'm in love with typography, fonts ... you know, those kinds of things.  I discovered this when I started blogging.  By the end of this blog post, you would have made another discovery about me, i.e. I can type.  I cannot draw, however.

3.   I wear glasses.

4.   I started drinking green tea this year.  Quite refreshing, but I still prefer juice.

5.   I own three lipsticks.  Two of them are red.  Can you guess the shade of the third one? *Hint: It's a deep shade of pink.

6.   I used to have a neighbor who owned a chicken as a pet.  At least, that's what I thought at the time I blogged about it.  The neighbor is still there, but Alice (that's what I named the chicken) is missing.  Can anyone take a wild guess at what has happened to Alice?  Let me help you out with a few options.  Alice is:

A.  Taking self-defense classes after seeing me smacking my lips as I strolled by her house.
B.  Vacationing in Hawaii, skinny dipping in the ocean.  What? She's covered in feathers ;-)
C.  Taking singing lessons.  So she can wake us up when the alarm clock is broken.
D.  Was barbecued on some hot coals, many weeks ago.

I pick all of the above options, except D.  Yes, I am in denial.

7.   I am more likely to snap my fingers to music, rather than clap to it, especially in church.  I have been known to drum on the seat in front of me too.  Yes, I am that person.

8.   I am NOT a morning person at all.  I am likely to bite, scratch, kick, bite and display other overtly hostile behavior towards anyone who disturbs my sleep.  Sunday afternoon naps are especially delicious.  Try it.

9.   I love dimples, but I don't have any.

10. I still don't know what I saw in those telenovelas they used to show back then, but I still remember the theme songs to most of them.  And I still get pretty excited when I hear them e.g. Isaura the slave girl (Escrava Isaura), Wild Rose (Rosa Salvaje), The Rich Also Cry (Los Ricos Tambien Lloran), Maria de Los Angeles, etc.

11. Living in America has made me a lot more sensitive to political correctness.  However, I still don't think calling ethnic groups tribes, instead of nations, is politically incorrect.  Make sense?

Tommie Akibo

Haha! Hilarious answers. I held my breath for No. 8. Oh snap, what sort of short name is that. I like the drumming on the seat in front part. lol...

Kayode Martins-Olowo

Lmaoo@ Alice. I love dimples too but i don't have. I feel you on the morning thing. Nocturnal in the building.

I think the answer to no8 should be Kish...def Kish :)

So Arts student with love for math? You really are weird. I use calculator to sum up numbers like 4 and 7 (covers face) Don't judge me

your answers are hilarious..I also don't think i can survive being a vegetarian

You're most welcome! :)

LOL -- Why are you rubbing the fact that you can snap your fingers in my face? (that remains my greatest failing)

No, I'm not afraid of the dark, hehe, although when I was a kid and I had to turn off the light downstairs before going to bed, I'd do it super fast and race up the stairs. I soon outgrew that.

Vegan Nigerian

Hey!! Thanks for the award…Off I go to write it up!

Omg... Wild rose, the rich also cry and Maria de Los Angeles... ahh, nights of 15mins bliss. I desperately wanted my dad to get the video tapes for us from wherever he could find them from... they were the ish on tv. lol.

Govt. and lit in Eng were my fave subject as well.

Thanks for the nomination... answers to the questions coming soon, fingers crossed :)

Inyamu: You even remember how long those telenovellas ran for ... It seemed like hours to me. You know you can buy them on Amazon now? No kidding. You should check them out.

Another Government and Literature lover. Hi-Five jare!

You can jejely uncross your fingers. I'm sure you'll knock out those questions :-)

In the Midst: You are welcome. Looking forward to your write up.

Vegan Nigerian: Ah ... you can't snap your fingers? *now snapping fingers with a ruthless vengeance and grinning mischievously*

I was grinning until the "I soon outgrew that" part. I would have been happy to rub that in too :-)

Sykikblog: Glad you got a good laugh out of it. I can't be a vegetarian either. All the cows should go into hiding.

Toin: Woo-hoo! Another night owl in the building.

I forgot about Kish sha. That's definitely a shorter form of ... What's the long version again?

You better believe I am judging you o! Calculator ke?

FYI: 4 + 7 = 11 *dodges shoe thrown by Toin*

Kayode: I am yet to meet a Nigerian who states emphatically: "Suya? I HATE it" and walks away in disgust. Nope! They all proclaim their love for the red meat and spices. I think it would make a good export, next to Nollywood movies.

Bungee jumping, etcetera? No wahala. As long as there is suya in the backpack, I can go too.

Michael: I hope you're not still holding your breath o. Lol! Relentless is shorter than "The Relentless Builder." I am sure you agree. I doubt that the people in front of me appreciate my drumming skills though.

Tommie: Yes, I have! Thanks for sharing it with me. They've been around for more than a year and are filling a necessary gap. Keep supporting them!
