1. Paul Oti - Malafakumo (Don't be afraid)

Paul Oti is a music minister and vocal coach with passion for God based in Port-Harcourt, Rivers State. He has worked with Ebiere and Afy Douglas who are top notch gospel acts in the South-South region and has organised great concerts to promote the gospel of Christ. He loves training choirs and helping people that are not very good singers to be the best.

6 Artistes You Should Listen to This Week

Today, I will be introducing a new series on this blog.  Every week, I will share 6 Nigerian gospel / christian artistes that I recommend for you to listen to, followed by a hand-picked song from each artiste. If you have any artistes in mind, you can e-mail their music and information to music@therelentlessbuilder.com.

To kick off this series, check out the following artistes (Don't forget to leave a comment):

1.  MISTA SETH - Har'abada

Mista Seth is both a music producer and gospel artiste.  Originally from Jos, Plateau State, he now lives in Abuja where he operates his own recording studio, Mista Seth's Kitchen.  His focus is almost exclusively R n B and his skill in this particular genre has clearly improved over the years.  His debut 19-track album "My Everything" was released back in 2011.  Har'abada is one of my favorite songs from that album.  Listen below:

MUSIC: Nolly CIA - Ndewo (Produced by First Degree)

Nolly is a member of the gospel hip-hop group, CIA.  This is another solo effort by him, and this track was produced by First Degree.

Oh, yes, in case you wondered, Ndewo means "Good Day."  It's not rocket science.  I just saw it on the cover art. *wink*  It pays to look twice!

Here's the press release:

Weekly Eye-Catching Designs No. 5: Cover Art for Songs, Albums, EPs

Every week,  various eye-catching designs for songs, albums and EPs by Nigerian gospel artistes will be showcased on this blog.  The idea is to highlight and appreciate the hard work and creativity of graphic artistes and designers who work behind the scenes towards the success of each project.

Here is the 5th Edition.  Let me know which one(s) you love the most.  Enjoy!

1. C-Stas - Moni O (I Have You)

THIS Friday's Free Downloads: Ephraem Chene (Ephraim Haruna), IBK Spaceship Boy and Ernythang (Ernest Bisong), Christ I Abide (C.I.A)

If you listen to Nigerian music regularly, one instrument that features quite regularly (apart from the keyboard and drums) would be the guitar.  However, the guitar is just one of many string instruments.  It is always refreshing to see musicians, particularly gospel artistes, creatively using other string instruments in unique and interesting ways.  And that brings us to this Friday's free downloads.

Apart from the fact that today's free downloads are well-produced and delightful to the ears, the first two downloads have one thing in common:  a strong and pervasive use of the violin.  You'll see (or hear) what I mean in a little bit. Meanwhile, let me briefly introduce you to the artistes one by one.
