Can you believe it is March already? I can't. And this is the very first batch in this series for 2013. *yawns* Okay, okay. Let me get to it already.
Samsong's 2012 single, Blame it on Tha Most High, is remarkably different from the mostly R & B type songs that this artiste is known for. This one has more of a pop, funk feel to it. But, change is good, and he pulls this off in his usual easy-going "I-make-this-look-so-easy" way.

Marx Okereke - Imela featuring Nikki Laoye
Yes, I know. Another "Imela" song. But believe me, this one is worth listening to and is different from the others. Marx and Nikki both did well on this song. Nikki particularly surprised me with her vocals in this Afro-beat / Jazz song, as I am used to hearing her sing in other genres. As for Marx (previously featured here), I was not too surprised. He is definitely a force to reckon with, and thankfully, does not seem like he is slowing down anytime soon.
