Immortal King (Ikechukwu Ozoemene) sent me his latest single titled "You Too Dey Bless," and I decided to share it with you.
First off, here is the press release, which he sent to me, followed of course by the song, and more information on this artiste:
Immortal King, ‘the man of phronesis’ one of heaven’s finest, drops a church party banger! You can’t help but move your body to the beat! This is a praise song to our Lord Jesus Christ from a grateful heart that is overwhelmed with God’s perpetual and immeasurable blessings. This song puts you in that mood of gratitude that gets you counting your blessings; and when you now find out that they are as many as the stars in the sky, you will only end up saying ,”God! U 2 dey bless!”
With mind blowing punch lines -“…I have all things; lack is the only thing I’m lacking… ”, captivating chorus in pidgin English fused with Yoruba phrases, energetic-top-notch-dance beat that makes any listener fall in love with it at first play. This is one highly addictive song that will puts springs in your feet to dance and praise the Lord all day long!
Immortal king, the Man Of Phronesis (M.O.P) is officially known as Ikechukwu Emmanuel Ozoemene. He is an anointed and talented gospel hip hop recording artiste and song writer from Zion (Awka-South L.G.A, Anambra State, Nigeria). Born November on 27th in Kano State, Nigeria. A Computer Scientist by profession from UNN (University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Nigeria) and a rap minister by calling. He didn’t leave UNN without making his foot print in the sands of time. He made the lion and lionesses (students) in the den (UNN) roar for Christ with his worded and anointed songs. He had released couple of demos like “God is good”, “Greater light” etc. He was part of different rap groups before he graduated: C.J tribe, Gospel Evangelists (Immortal king and Nolly 'Son of da MostHigh').
He got introduced to rap music by the likes of Biggy smalls, Jay Z, Big L, Nas, 2pac but he dislikes the lyrical content (provocative and abusive) of these rappers that can only lead them to doom (Matt.12:37...for by thy words thou shalt be justified and by thy words thou shalt be condemned). Instead of singing the songs of these rappers he started writing down Spirit and faith filled songs which he sang to himself to chart the cause of his life for success.
Following the path of his saviour Jesus Christ, who didn’t minister to anyone until He got filled with the Spirit. Immortal king’s music ministry (Rapping and Song writing) didn’t start till he got filled with the Spirit (2000), same year he joined Believers’ Loveworld Ministry. His lyrics are greatly influenced by Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, the president of Believers’ Loveworld Inc a.k.a Christ Embassy. You can call him the hip hop version of Pastor Chris Oyakhilome because he gives rhythm to the messages of Pastor Chris in his own way.
He is not signed to a record label presently but he is currently working on his album (The Gospel Is My Hustle).
