"PRINCI" is the Name of Every Federal Government College Principal

One of my most embarrassing moments was an incident with my school principal.  I blogged about it here.  I have since recovered from the 'horror,'  but the name 'Princi' brings back more than one memory.

I was having a conversation with someone who went to FGGC Sagamu some years back.  When she referred to her school principal, she called her 'PRINCI.'  I was shocked.  Before that conversation, I assumed that only the girls in my school (a federal government college in Lagos), called the principal 'Princi.'  Apparently, it is quite common in other schools.

So, is it safe to assume that every federal government college principal is called 'Princi'? I don't know. And what about principals in public, state, private secondary schools? Princi too?  What if the principal is male? Maybe you can help me.

What did you call your principal back in secondary school? Please share in the comments.

P.S. Did you notice that many of our school principals are women? Interesting.

Yes yes yes! Mine was a woman too and we called her Princi. I think it was a FEGO thing "Princi is coming" lol

I think it's a federal college thing. Mine was a female too and we called her 'princi.' Hehe... i cannot forget the day she punished us for 'aiding and abetting' a school criminal before the whole school! and to think i was in my senior class then ooh! *rolls eyes*

Ibimina: Thanks for confirming that it was the same in your school too. Chai! It sounds like she punished your whole class. Sorry ehn! Funny enough, I remember our principal punishing us (girls in my class) for something too. We had to kneel down on the assembly ground for a while and then cut grass. I was a day student, so 'grass cutting' was foreign to me.
